Vees Hand Thunder First Loss In Return to East Coast Varsity Home Ice

Vees Hand Thunder First Loss In Return to East Coast Varsity Home Ice: The Voyageurs put in a stellar performance Saturday soundly beating the league leading, undefeated Fundy Thunder 5-3 in front of a near capacity enthusiastic home ice crowd.   Adriel Schwarz opened the scoring for the Vees midway thru the first period in what was arguably the best period of complete hockey the team has played so far this season.  Duncan Giles and Zach Woods added two more in the second period as the frame ended with the Vees up 3-1.   Reid Amero and Brennan O’Donnell made it a commanding 5-1 lead before the Thunder fought back and notched 2 goals in the last half of the third, including a penalty shot goal. Jackson Murphy played a solid game stopping 31 of 34 shots for the much needed 5-3 victory.  The Vees are back in action this Friday, October 29 at 8pm against the Fundy Thunder at Truro.   The complete box score is here: https://www.nsu16aaahl.ca/game-summ.php?g=fa3b32c8-0f47-11ec-a722-fa163e727619
